PIPES calls the tune but cannot HOGG all the headlines as Collingham reign supreme
Rye Cafe & Bar Division A
George Hogg 98, Atif Ali Zaldl 78 & Oliver Dyson 47 all scored freely as Collingham posted an impressive 280-5 and then it was the turn of David Pipes 7-16 and Harry Sheppard 3-33 to dismantle visitors Belvoir for only 49-10. Balderton 176-9 fell to another defeat this time to Attenborough 177-4 B Haycock 69*, B Bhabra 55 & 3-53 saw the visitors across the winning line. Rhys Hayes 4-31 and 3-32 from Zaheer Rahman bowled Gedling Colliery 157-10 to victory over Hoveringham 114-10 for whom Hamish Moore top scored with 60. Umar Zamman 72 & 4-7 turned in an excellent all round performance as Hyson Green CC 209-9 were victorious over visitors Wollaton 110-10. An unfit outfield caused the game between Long Eaton and Ellerslie to be abandoned with no play possible.
200 Degrees Coffee Division B
Ben Ryder 120* and Alex Sheriston 71 guided West Bridgfordians to 252-3 but fell to defeat as Carl Blake hit a superb 140 to take Kimberley 253-3 to victory on a glorious batting track at Newdigate Street. 71 from Alam Khalil wasn’t enough as Hyson Green CC 179-10 fell to defeat against Eastwood 180-6 as both Ryan Buckley 63 and Shaun Stocks 5-50 carried on the sides good start to the season. The consistency shown by Martin Rayner 4-23 once again took Attenborough 186-8 to victory with a comfortable home win over Caythorpe 113-10. Nigel Finney with 5-25 helped Plumtree 89-1 to an easy win in the local derby against Clifton 88-10. Farooq Aziz contributed a fine 71 to steer Nott’s Unity Casuals 228-7 to a win over Calverton 226-7 for whom Matt Dean had hit an unbeaten 82* earlier in the game.
Rothera Dowson Division C
Although Josh Scully 71 and Joe Richardson 62 were in good form with the bat it still couldn’t stop Thrumpton 192-8 falling to defeat against Southwell 193-8 as Tim Green 57 and 42* from Joe Fryer saw the victors home with fourteen balls to spare. Luke Prettyjohn 4-41 backed up team mate’s Steve Haworth innings of 114 as Gotham 256-5 took the spoils in the win over Bottesford 142-10. Jess Jones 44* helped continue the great start to the season by Kirkby Portland 109-2 as they inflicted a heavy defeat on hosts Radcliffe on Trent 105-10. An unbeaten century stand from Nicky Kirkwood 63* & Ed Savill 41* saw hosts Wollaton 115-10 to a comprehensive win over travelling Keyworth 110-10. Dennis Burrell hit 65 and then Raj Hanspal 6-21 & Lashaune Wier 4-25 took Beeston & Toton Sycamore 128-10 to a local derby win over near neighbours Bramcote 91-10.
Rex Gooding Division D
A magnificent unbeaten 133* from Tim Berridge saw Sutton Bonnington 186-4 to victory when they came away from Stamford Road defeating hosts West Bridgfordians 185-10. G Buckthorpe 75 top scored as Hucknall 228-7 ran out victors when overcoming visitors Hickling 190-7 for whom I Fisher hit 65. Gareth Hayes returned magnificent figures of 6-3 from 11 overs as Gedling Colliery 39-2 crushed Underwood 34-10. Gedling & Sherwood 83-0 gained a ten wicket away win at Little Bounds over hosts Ellerslie 82-9. Joe Smith hit a match winning 84* as Farndon 196-9 defeated Collingham 133-8 in the local derby.
Trophy Master Division E
James Faulkner 5-25 bowled Newark R & M to an easy eight wicket home win over Eastwood 76-10 and it was left to Bimal Parambil 37* to close the win out. Jamie Huscroft 3-26 and Paul Kelly 3-7 reduced Lenton & Willoughby to 107-10 and Plumtree coasted home finishing on 110-3. James Hawkes hit 50 but his team Belvoir 158-10 went down to a home defeat against Bingham 162-4 as Harrison Clark took 4-37 for the victors. Inspired by the opening of their new pavilion after last year’s fire East Bridgford 81-2 had Muhammed Tafseer 4-21, James Foster 4-40, Neil Foster 2-3, Andy Wright 31* and Jerry Cruse 28 all figuring in the win over Basford Mill 81-10. Arif Mohammed with 37 & 3-45 helped Nott’s Unity Casuals 214-10 defeat Kirkby Portland who themselves had Thomas Batterham 41 & 3-23 performing well withboth bat and ball.
GB Bookkeeping Division F
Jamie Coupland hit 50 as East Leake could only post 127-10 but then Alex Cufflin produced an amazing bowling performance taking 8-7 to destroy Fiskerton 19-10, one note of success for the losers though was a fine return of 5-10 from S Collington. Chris Pick 3-38 took a hat trick but still finished on the losing side as Wymeswold 101-10 fell well short in chasing the total set by Whatton & Aslockton 216-10 which included 103 from Adrian Curzon. The quartet of Jamie Macintyre 59, Sam Wagstaff 49, Fergus Ludlow 39* & Malcolm Hawley 3-47 all assisted in the win for Caunton 231-7 over Caythorpe 210-10. Becoming a father earlier in the week certainly seem to inspire Irfan Niazi as he blasted 81 from 35 balls to help Gotham 189-10 to an away win at Burton Joyce 156-10, his fellow team mate Muhammad Shahid took 6-48 to wrap up the victory.
BLCS Division G
Shaun Campbell 62* & 3-23 turned the screw in both fields of the game as Kinoulton 131-9 squeezed across the finishing line with the narrowest of victories at Bottesford 130-7. A fine all round team performance in which TJ Austin 83, John Noall 73*, Ashley Graham 30 and Inam Malik 5-12 all contributed helped Lowdham 272-5 dismantle Beeston & Toton Sycamore 70-10. Farhad Amin took 5-25 and then with Rishi Clarke 50* & Simon Winfield 56* following it up to give West Bridgford Legion 114-0 maximum points when they defeated Calverton 113-10. Flintham 136-5 had both M Isherwood 75 and S Taylor 5-41 performing with distinction as they came away from Burnt Stump after defeating Ravenshead 135-10. Long Eaton 119-6 gained a much needed win as J Fletcher 54*, J Pack 4-22 and C Dulston 4-36 all figured in the win over Young Lions 118-10.
Central College Division H
Keyworth 89-0 completely outplayed opponents Southwell 88-10 as Sam Foster hit 58* in the ten wicket win at Platts Lane. Sam Ross hit a fine 61 in tense finish as Balderton 138-7 defeated Woodborough 137-7 with five balls to spare. Ian Lobb 60 and Paul Harley 5-41 were key figures for Hucknall 190-6 in their victory over Gedling Colliery 165-8. Attenborough 96-4 completed a routine win away at Gedling & Sherwood 95-10 as the trio of bowlers Rob Howarth 4/23, James Grenfell 3/23 & Rob Kitching 3/17 all delivered. Montie Douglas hit 49 but Hyson Green CC 84-10 were no match for a rampaging Chilwell side who eased to 85-1 in reply.
Carlton Car Centre Division J
Tim Eatherington 95 and Scott Bolsher 5-19 shared the glory as Hoveringham 145-2 ran out victors over West Bridgfordians 140-8. Norman Jowett 43, Chris Parkes 34, Tom Robinson 4-27and Greg Quick 4-44 were all in form as Bramcote 162-8 edged home against Cotgrave 160-10. Ricky Martin with a spell of 3-47 helped Oxton 173-9 close out victory in a thrilling finish over Madni 165-10. Colin Cliff hit 85 as Thurgarton 187-8 inflicted a heavy defeat upon Newark R & M 90-10. Clifton 149-10 were outgunned by in form Stapleford 152-2 as Gordon Pearson 76, Josh Buckley 4-22 and Alan Pearson 39* & 3-37 all produced quality performances.
King Stone Products Division K
Youngsters Harry Rathore 3-15 and Charlie Taylor 3-24 bowled Wollaton 131-10 to victory over Ellerslie 123-10 for whom Kane Wilson hit 73* and Asif Riaz took 4-24. A fine spell of bowling from Pete Rowberry 6-48 decided the match as his side Basford Old Boys 118-6 were victorious over Ruddington 102-10.Thrumpton 113-10 were grateful to Ben Clark 62 in their disappointing total of 113-10 and Kimberley took the win as they closed on 114-6. It was all one way traffic as Poplars 291-1 demolished Lenton & Willoughby 81-10 with centuries from B Thomas 162* and S Chowdrey 116*. A thrilling game saw Abbass Abid 60, Waqas Abid 34 & Matt Huskinson 4-62 all contribute as Basford Mill 203-8 fell to defeat at the hands of Caythorpe 204-7 for whom D Kent 51, S Truman 41 and B Walker 4-42 also made significant contributions.
Oracle Property Finance Ltd Division L
A spell of 4-28 from Simon Waites secured victory for Chilwell 104-5 when they entertained Radcliffe on Trent 102-10. In a low scoring game Steve Fleming with 45 for the victors Kirkby Portland 126-6 helped them overcome hosts Attenborough 124-5 despite a fine spell from Seth Puddy of 5-20. A Wells hit 146 as Great Dalby amassed 254-5 and opponents Farndon 152-10 fell well short in chasing the daunting total. Martin Sugden 43, Tony Williams 34 and Simon Scott 35* helped Collingham 151-5 defeat Lowdham 150-10.
Robert Whowell & Partners Division M
Belvoir 155-8 edged across the winning line thanks to Tim Gilbertson 4-38 & Jamie Gilbertson 3-19 as they defeated East Bridgford 136-10 despite 71 from Chris Fowkes. 4-19 from Jack Shelton ensured victory for Wymeswold 63-4 after they had earlier dismissed visitors Newark R & M for just 61-10. In a game where runs seemed hard to find it was a match winning 32 from Andy Wagstaff that helped Hucknall 86-6 secure victory over Bingham 85-9. Tony Woodcock’s inspiring spell of 6-26 and 42 from Joe Gant helped Old Dalby 147-7 to a thrilling win over Nottingham Deaf 143-10. N Stannard hit 58 for Nott’s & Arnold 140-10 and then S Tandon returned figures of 7-30 to seal the win over Whatton & Aslockton 119-10.

P Landa 3-11 and C Rudkin 3-34 bowled Nott’s & Arnold to victory as West Bridgfordians crumbled to 69-10. Jake Bircumshaw 49 & 3-15, Paul Mantle along with Duane Simpson 32* all were key figures as Lambley 169-8 travelled home victorious with the win over Ellerslie 62-10.Fiskerton were unable to raise a side this week in their home fixture against Keyworth.
