“It’s a funny old game as Greaves scores for Old Dalby”

Rye Cafe & Bar Division A

A brilliant century from Duncan Mckeown 134 and contributions from D O Brien 73 Rhys Hayes 57* & 3-23 and Akif Farooq 3-15 gave Gedling Colliery 318-4 a fine victory over relegation candidates Balderton 75-10 who now have to face the top three sides over the run in. Belvoir 198-10 gained a winning draw over Attenborough 149-5 with Joe Bottemley taking 5-29 whilst Jai Jandu returned the best figures of the match taking 6-31. Ellerslie 199-2 took maximum points with a convincing home win over Carrington 198-7 with Suman Shrestha 65*, John Wakeling 41, Richard Harris 53* and a fine return by Kane Wilson of 4-56 whilst S Bazmi hit 57 for the visitors. A fine all-round team performance gave Kimberley 273-9 a winning draw over Plumtree 204-4 who had Paul White 82* hitting the top score of the match. Wollaton 134-8 are now just one win away from securing the title with both Tim Young 45 and Mustafa Iqbal 6-31 figuring in the win whilst David Pipes took 5-35 for Collingham 75-10.  

200 Degrees Coffee Division B

Clifton 235-7 remain top by just one point after gaining a winning draw over fellow promotion candidates Calverton 146-9 with L Brazier hitting 78 and bowlers P Macmillan 4-32 and H Ali 3-39 striking. Hot on the heels of the leaders are Carrington 154-7 with a home win over Southwell 151-10 as Z Ahmed hit 51 and S Khalil along with S Arshad took three wickets apiece but the pick of the bowlers on the day was the ever reliable Steve Wright with 5-25. Kirkby Portland 84-1 romped to an impressive win away at Eastwood 83-10 as A Severn with 4-34 tore into the home side’s batting line up and the win sees the two side’s two points apart in the relegation battle. Will Rattray 67, Richard Milner 67* & Callum Brown 7- 81 were the stand out performers for Wollaton 247-7 in the win over Hoveringham 207-10 who themselves had notable performances from both Mike Cupit 55 and 4-85 & Daniel North 48. Long Eaton 181-7 gained victory as they overcame the 176-10 set by hosts Nott’s Unity 176-10 a fine 48 from Tom Pepper was followed up with 6-54 from Andy Edge.

Rothera Sharp Division C

4-23 by Josh Mills which followed 60 from Thomas Booth enabled Radcliffe on Trent 228-9 to gain victory over Caythorpe 110-10 to dent the host’s promotion push. Steve Cardy 54, N Abbass 30, H Khan 4-16 & Ozzy Qayyum 4-60 all featured in the win for Gedling & Sherwood 176-8 over Farndon 174-10 for whom Martyn Hill top scored with 41. Hucknall 201-7 pull clear in second spot with a fine away win over Gotham 88-10 with the youthful Tim Buckthorpe hitting 54. A 155 third wicket partnership from Sam Foster 112 and Dhruv Shahi 51 saw Keyworth gain a winning draw over Beeston & Toton 137-8 as the consistent Andrew Burrell top scored with 45. Promotion was assured in the win for West Bridgfordians 116-1 over Fiskerton & Thurgarton 115-10 and the bowler causing the damage was Stuart Plant with 6-21 and Ben Shaw followed it up with 51* to start the celebrations.

Rex Gooding Div D

T Spawton 4-10 and J Playle 3-17 threw the promotion race wide open as leaders Bingham were bowled out for 48-10 when chasing Hickling’s 98-10 on what seemed to be a bowler friendly wicket. R Shah 44*, Dean Parkes 3-28 and 4-28 from Alex Bullivant helped Bramcote 183-8 to a home win over Thrumpton 133-10. J Ward 60* & 5-19 from A Charlesworth were the two performances that helped Bottesford 104-3 secure a fine away win over Collingham 100-10. Ellerslie 104-2 strode to an away victory over East Bridgford 100-10 to keep the host’s deep in the relegation dogfight. A fine spell of bowling from Nathan Burton 4-17 heaped more misery upon Grantham 46-10 and Gedling Colliery closed out victory finishing on 48-0 in reply.

Trophy Master Division E

Shack Taj took 5-12 to help secure the win for Nott’s Unity 134-10 over host’s East Leake 106-10 for whom Ashley Mace hit an unbeaten 54*. Newark R&M 87-3 secured promotion with a convincing home win over Caythorpe 83-10 with bowlers Richie Andrew 4-6 and Craig Drury 3-41 stamping their authority on the game. Ruddington 228-6 remain in second spot with the trio of Yaqoob Khan 51*and 3-47,Ajmal Farooq 49 & Shahzad Naheem 5-40 all combining in the win over West Bridgfordians 178-9 who had Ian Huskinson hitting 51. R Denton took 6-50 for Belvoir 96-10 but failed in the pursuit of the 157-10 set by Underwood in which S Naylor hit 43. Kirkby Portland failed to raise a side in the game against Sutton Bonington.  

GB Bookkeeping Division F

7-25 from Tom Bosworth condemned Gotham 37-10 to relegation as Basford Mill 40-1 ran out comfortable winners. James Lawson with 3-16 was the stand out bowler in the win for Burton Joyce 112-6 over Caunton 111-10.  S Sanders 5-29 & A Shelton 3-17 both featured for Wymeswold 70-1 in the fine away win over Lenton & Willoughby 69-10. Justin Graham 53, Inam Malik 5-35 and Bill Austin with 3-33 saw Lowdham 177-9 come away with a victory over Ravenshead 115-10 despite a fine 54 from Damian Eite.

Bar Lane Community Sports Division G

A Superb 159* from Nazakat Ali helped Carrington to a total of 257-3 and opponents Beeston & Toton were confirmed as relegated when being dismissed for 122-10 in reply. A maiden century from Tom Reilly 106 and Asad Hussein with 51 helped Fiskerton & Thurgarton 225-4 inflict a heavy defeat upon Gedling Colliery 135-9. Leaders Kimberley 101-1 edged closer to promotion with Luke Tantum 70, Connor Richardson 4-38 and Blayne Riley 5-28 all starring in the win over Whatton & Aslockton 100-10. Rob Rhoades took 5-15 to see West Bridgford Legion 63-4 home in the win over Kinoulton 62-10. Ravi Digwa 3-24 Bhuvanesh Sankaran 3-16 and Aneil Singh with 37 guided Young Lions 104-3 to a home win over Balderton 103-10.

Turner Violins Division H

47 from David Paine proved to be of immense value as Bottesford 160-7 gave their chances of survival a boost with a home win over Attenborough 116-10. Although Graham Waghorn hit 91* and Jarrod Bell 50 their side Calverton 191-4 fell to defeat and are relegated and winners Madni 192-6 now need just one more win to ensure promotion. Southwell 153-9 also suffered the agony of the drop when falling to defeat at the hands of Stapleford 172-7 with G Pearson 41 and Alan Pearson 4-18 doing the damage, one has to feel sorry for Sam Toothill who drove 130 miles to play in the game only to be run out for just 2 runs. Josh Last 57* and Hussain Shaukat 4-13 delivered the blows for Gedling & Sherwood 107-2 in the win over Clifton 103-10. Chilwell 158-10 defeated neighbours Long Eaton 75-10 with a fine spell from Waleed Khan when taking 6-11.

Carlton Car Centre Division J

Andy Cowlard 39*, J Singh 4-19 and T Rock with 4-6 saw Keyworth 160-7 inflict defeat upon already relegated Basford Old Boys 64-10.  Finlay Hulbert 4-10 was the pick of the bowlers on show in the win for Ellerslie 94-8 over Oxton 79-10. West Bridgfordians 149-10 had Joe McLoughlin 71 and Tim Martin 51 in fine form but leaders Hucknall 151-7 were seen home to victory by Ross Brown with 69. Woodborough 126-8 keep the top two in their sights with a home win over second placed Ruddington 105-10 and have two games in hand over both rivals.

King Stone Products Division K

C. Knight 44* and T Benton with 47 set up the win with an unbeaten third wicket partnership for Attenborough 107-2 over Bramcote 106-9. Veeranjaneyulu Thota 55* and team mate Abdul Wahid Shah 3-35 were the inspiration behind the win for Poplars 162-9 over relegation threatened Caythorpe for whom special mention must go to Fynn Purnell (13 years) who scored 56 and took 3-32. Alan Richardson 4-17 starred with the ball for Farndon 102-6 in the win over Collingham 100-8. The trio of J Picker 54, M Child 47 & N Sunderland 3-39 gave a morale boosting win for Great Dalby 158-4 in the home win over promotion contenders Kimberley 155-9. Newark R&M 136-7 closed the gap on leaders Wollaton 132-8 with 67 from Peter Litchfield.

Oracle Property Finance Ltd Division L

East Bridgford 201-10 stay on top with an away victory over Belvoir 178-8 in which Ameer Shah 39 & 3-27 Adnan Mehmood 57 and Ali Altaf 32 all featured. Seventeen year old James Bennett hit 100* but Radcliffe on Trent 176-7 still fell to defeat when home side Chilwell crossed the winning line finishing on 180-8 with five balls to spare. Old Dalby amassed 332-7 with W Gent 58, T Driver 49, R Herrick 40 and man of the match D Greaves 84 & 6-34 in the home win over Underwood 128-10. RHP 168-6 were convincing winners over Basford Mill 47-10 as Paul Matthew finished agonisingly on 99*. Thrumpton were unable to raise a side in the match with Bengal United.

Robert Whowell & Partners Division M

Mike Rees 84* and Paul Whyley 44* guided Hucknall 158-3 to a fine win at home to Bingham 155-7. Lambley 157-10 proved too strong for visitors West Bridgfordians 63-10 with Paul Mantle taking 4-24. Nottingham Deaf 231-6 handed out a comprehensive defeat upon Lowdham 106-10 with Oliver Wilcox 100, Jordan Slater 40, Richard Wolfe 38, Andy Rowe 4-20 & Richard Johnson 3-29 all playing key roles. Tim Clamp took 3-10 in the win for Wymeswold 59-5 as they entertained visitors Nott’s & Arnold 58-10.

Paul Grundell Division N

Kelvin Rathore with 3-6 saw Ellerslie 55-2 remain on top of the division as they defeated Beeston & Toton 54-10. Chris Clayton 32 & 3-14 starred for Fiskerton & Thurgarton 141-8 in the away victory over Keyworth 139-10 for whom Henry Horne took 3-13. The quartet of D Walters 36, A Walters 36, S Maitra 31* & L Marks 3-13 took West Bridgford Legion 166-6 to the win that keeps them hot on the heels of the leaders when defeating Nott’s & Arnold 79-10. Whatton & Aslockton were unable to raise a side in the fixture against Gedling & Sherwood.
