At the December Board Meeting, the directors voted to change the policy on junior cricketers playing in open-age cricket.
Previously, the Board's policy prevented any players in the Under-12 age group from playing in open age cricket but having reviewed the issue, it has been decided that some players would benefit from playing at this age group.
Only those players in a a named group (which will be published on the Board's website) will be able to play in open age cricket - these players will have been signed off by Matt Wood, Player Pathway Development Officer and have parental consent to play. Further details of the new policy can be found on the Board's website here.
I would be grateful if you would pass this on to your league's member clubs and include this policy in your handbooks for next season. I will also be writing to all clubs affiliated to the league (and our umpiring associations).
